Inflation rate rises to 22.2% in April – NBS

The National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, said headline inflation rate rose year -on-year (YoY) to 22.22 percent in April from 22.04 percent in March.

The NBS released this information in their Commodity Price Index report, which was published on Monday.

When compared to March’s headline inflation rate, April’s 2023 inflation rate showed an increase of 0.18 percentage points.

Additionally, on a year-on-year basis, April’s headline inflation rate was 5.40 percentage points higher than the rate recorded in April 2022, which was 16.82 percent.
