- As Instrumentation Engineer Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing projects and ensuring their successful execution.
Responsibilities:
- Independent and impartial assessment and comprehensive report of progress of work of all contractors.
- Assessment of performance and certification of work done by the contractors for Electrical, Instrumentation, and other related works.
- Regular reporting of progress of work in the format approved by Employer.
- Audit and identification of risk including mitigation related to refinery projects in particular and other projects generally.
- Undertake technical and feasibility studies and site investigations.
- Assess the potential risks of specific projects, as well as undertake risk management in specialist roles
- Manage, supervise and advise on Instrumentation engineering issues.
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) packages and engineering software to create project plans, circuit diagrams, and designing projects when necessary
- Work closely with asset leads, instrumentation and control technicians and control systems to maximize equipment reliability and availability.
- Agreeing project specifications, budgets and timescales with the clients and managers.
- Monitor all Control and Instrumentation Engineering design and procurement work performed by the FEED & Contractors and other third party designers/vendors, providing oversight and guidance, ensuring that all work satisfies company specifications and standards.
- Testing, evaluation, modifying and re-testing materials.
- Coordinating technicians and crafts people.
- Prepare technical specifications and data sheets; approve wiring, installation and construction drawings.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing as required.
- Attending meetings, writing reports and giving presentations to the managers’ client.
- Making sure projects meet Instrumentation and construction safety regulations.
- Testing installations and systems, and analyzing data.
- To assist in the development of Design forms and templates for use within the Internal Design Department with a view to increasing overall efficiency.
- Ensure that a project runs smoothly and that the projects completed on time and within budget.
- Correct any project deficiencies that affect production, quality and safety requirements before final evaluation and project reviews
- Any other project related activity as assigned by the employer.
Skills & Experience Preferences:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering or a related field. Master degrees or certifications are a plus.
- A minimum of 12 years of relevant Instrumentation engineering experience in an engineering consultancy firm, preferably in Oil and Gas
Certifications:
- NSE and COREN are mandatory.
Experience:
- a minimum of 12 years’ experience in instrumentation engineering within the refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industrial sectors
- Experience in project management, Instrumentation system design is highly valued
Knowledge:
- a. Proficiency in relevant electrical engineering codes, standards, and regulations
- An appropriate qualification in Instrumentation Engineering.
- A solid understanding of instrumentation system design and knowledge of relevant codes.
- Proficiency in advanced MS Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
