Junior Treasury Officer at Matrix Energy Group

Job Purpose:

The job holder will support the Head of Treasury in managing the company’s banking relationships, liquidity, and treasury functions. The role involves assisting in investment analysis, managing day-to-day banking activities, and contributing to corporate finance tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Support in preparing daily reports on bank balances, cash flow, trade activities, and updating investment schedules.
• Monitor collection account balances and collaborate with the finance retail team to prevent and mitigate overdrafts on these accounts.
• Support the processing of Form M requests, including obtaining insurance, completing bank forms, and submitting documents for issuance.
• Collaborate with banks on opening new accounts, updating account mandates, and resolving operational issues
• Monitor banking products, services, and rates (investments, currencies, etc.), and provide necessary reports to aid decision-making.
• Assist in forecasting cash flow needs and ensuring adequate liquidity for day-to-day operations.
• Support the Head of Treasury in managing the company’s bank relationships, analyzing liquidity needs, and optimizing funding strategies.
• Support in the execution of accepted bank facility offers by gathering required documents and coordinating with relevant banks.
• Assist in managing banking correspondences and working with banks to resolve any issues related to our transactions and activities
• Support the maintenance of proper documentation for relevant files and other treasury-related records.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• OND in Accounting, Banking & Finance or a related course.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
• Great written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge of financial regulations and banking practices.
• Must be proficient in working with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Must have the ability to work as part of a team.
