Responsibilities
- Conduct physiochemical analyses on a variety of samples, including but not limited to water, food, pharmaceuticals, and environmental samples, using a range of laboratory techniques and equipment.
- Perform physicochemical analysis according to established protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure that all results generated in the Laboratory are accurate, credible, and reliable and in line with approved analytical standards such as NIS and ISO standards.
- Monitor and record the environmental conditions (Temperature and Humidity) in the Physicochemical Laboratory.
- Monthly report of Laboratory Inventory (Chemicals, glasswares, and Consumables).
- Interpret test results, perform data analysis, and prepare comprehensive reports for clients, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, including ISO standards, IPAN guidelines, and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), by adhering to established protocols and quality assurance procedures.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to address deviations and ensure the integrity of test results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support research projects, method development/validation, and process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory, including calibration and maintenance of equipment, proper storage of reagents and samples, and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with safety protocols.
- Participate in internal and external audits, inspections, and accreditation processes, assisting with documentation and compliance activities as needed.
- Stay current with advances in laboratory technology, and regulatory requirements through continuous learning and professional development activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of cognate experience working in a public laboratory preferably in a quality control or analytical testing environment.
- IPAN membership is a MUST.
- Proficiency in operating analytical instruments and performing various analytical techniques.
- Strong understanding of analytical chemistry principles, methods, and instrumentation.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate and interact with team members.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy, reliability, and integrity in laboratory operations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and computerized data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), including ISO 17025 is highly desirable.
