Lagos commuters stranded as protesters set bonfire

There was tension along Isheri-Igando on Friday as protesters barricaded the road over the rejection of old naira notes by commercial transport workers.

the protest first started in Igando in the early hours of the day and was later quelled by policemen from Igando Division.

Another protest however erupted at the Oko Filling end of the road, as the protesters set bonfire on the road, preventing commercial bus drivers from working.

Our correspondent observed as they dragged passengers from buses and tricycles plying the axis.

This has led to traffic congestion along the axis.

Commuters have been stranded as some were seen trekking to their destinations.
