Lagos confirms 59 new cases as Nigeria records 117 COVID-19 cases

The Lagos State Government has confirmed fifty-nine new Coronavirus cases in the state.

This was disclosed by the State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi via his Twitter page on Wednesday, noting that the State now has 438 confirmed COVID-19 cases.

He tweeted, “59 new #COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Lagos on April 21, 2020.

“Total number of confirmed #COVID-19 cases in Lagos now stands at 438.

“5 of the cases previously reported in Lagos State have been transferred to Ogun State.”

“Total #COVID-19 cases transferred out of Lagos are now 8.

“The cheering news is that 9 more fully recovered #COVID-19 Lagos patients; 5 females and 4 males including a foreign national; polish have been discharged after testing negative to further #COVID-19 screening.”

Meanwhile, NCDC on Tuesday also confirmed that Nigeria recorded 117 new cases of Coronavirus in the country.

NCDC said it recorded 59 in Lagos, 14 in Kano, 29 in FCT, 6 in Borno, 4 in Katsina, 31 in Ogun, 1 in Bauchi and 1 in Rivers.
