Lagos govt impounds over 200 unregistered vehicles

The Lagos State Government has taken action to impound more than 200 unregistered and unpainted vehicles in an effort to enhance road safety and security across the state.

LThe exercise was carried out by a team from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), led by Sola Giwa, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation.

Sola Giwa disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, emphasizing the proactive approach taken to regulate the transportation sector and improve road safety.

Unregistered vehicles, he explained, pose significant risks to both road safety and security, as they often evade necessary inspections and regulations, compromising their roadworthiness.

Giwa asserted the seriousness with which the state government views this issue, stating that companies operating without the appropriate documentation would be held accountable for their actions and could face legal consequences.
