Lagos orders Lekki phase I, II’s gates open

The Lagos State Government has ordered that street gates located in Lekki phase I, II and its environs be opened from 6 am to 11 pm during the yuletide.

This was made known in a press statement made available by the state’s Commissioner of Transportation, Mr Oluwaseun Osiyemi, on Friday.

According to him, the order was necessary for the ease of movement of vehicles to reduce traffic congestion that may arise in the area due to the holiday activities.

The statement read, “All Street gates located in Lekki Phase I, Phase II and environs should be left open from the hours of 6 am to 11 pm daily during the yuletide season.This order is necessary for the ease of movement of vehicular traffic with a view to reducing traffic congestion that may arise due to the holidays.By opening the gate, seamless and convenient movement can be made possible during this period for residents and visitors.It is important to note that strict compliance is necessary as contravention of this directive will warrant sanctions from the state.”

It further assured residents that security measures will be put in place for their safety.
