Lagos plans expansion of Lekki seaport access road

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said that the state will be turning the $1.5bn Lekki Deep Seaport access road into six carriage way.

Sanwo-Olu said this on Monday while speaking at the construction completion ceremony of the Lekki Deep Seaport.

He said that the state government would be removing shanties along the pot access even as he urged host communities to ensure that there was no obstruction on the access road.

“I also want the citizens to know that we are turning this place into a six-lane highway and so there are shanties along the road let push them away and clear the road.”

Sanwo-Olu added that already construction work on the access road had started.

“You have seen that the construction of the road from Elakan Junction has continued towards Ajah and you can also see that the construction from Elakan Junction towards here is also ongoing. I want to reassure you that we will stop at nothing to push this road to completion.
