Lagos Surveyor-General Bows Out Of Public Service

The Lagos State Surveyor-General and Permanent Secretary, Surv. Olutomi Ajose Sangowawa has bowed out of Public Service after 35 years of meritorious service with the State Government.

Speaking at the sent-forth ceremony organised for him, the Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola said the retiring Surveyor-General made an indelible mark by carrying out his tasks with passion and professionalism, adding that the knowledge and experience acquired in the course of his career impacted positively on the performance of the team of surveyors in Lagos State.

Muri-Okunola, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Public Service Office, Mrs. Olasunkanmi Oyegbola, thanked the retiree for his dedication and urged him to continue supporting the public sector even in retirement
His words: “I must state that Surv. Olutomi Ajose Sangowawa, having served in the Lands Administration space in Lagos State for a considerable length of years, is a thoroughbred professional whose elevation as the State Surveyor-General and subsequent appointment as a Permanent Secretary did not come as a surprise to many”.

The Head of Service stated further that Sangowawa exhibited the capacity to manage diverse human and material resources while ensuring compliance with processes, laid down procedures and relevant legal obligation processes of attaining organisational goals and objectives.

He, therefore, called on civil servants still in active service to emulate the dedication and commitment of the outgoing Permanent Secretary, stressing that his legacy would be difficult to attain by those coming behind him.

In his remarks, Surv. Sangowawa expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Government for giving him the opportunity to serve, advising those still in service not to relent but to ensure they contribute their quota to improve the State and humanity in general.

The ceremony was graced by dignitaries including the representative of the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, Body of Permanent Secretaries, retired Permanent Secretaries, Heads of Agencies, Professional colleagues, family members and a host of other well-wishers.
