Lagos to divert traffic at Oke-Koto/Agunbiade intersection in Agege

As part of efforts to carry out flood abatement works and rehabilitation of some sections of the Oke-koto/Agunbiade intersection in the Agege Local Government Area, the Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversion plans for the duration of the rehabilitation works.

A statement signed by the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, said the section of the road will be temporarily closed to traffic for a period of one month, commencing from Friday 21st October to Monday 21st November, 2022 for the rehabilitation works.

Oladeinde, therefore, advised Oke-koto bound motorists from Oba Ogunji through the Fly Over Bridge to access the bridge ramp to Old Abeokuta/Nitel and Connect Orile-Agege.

Similarly, he implored Oba Ogunji bound motorists from Old Abeokuta road to drive through Agege-Isokoko to connect Asade-Oba Akran road while enjoining road users from Ipaja road to make use of available alternative routes like Morcass Road to link Oniwaya to continue their journey.

He clarified that the diversion plan will not prevent motorists coming from Agunbiade and adjoining streets from using the Pen Cinema Bridge inward Oba Ogunji road.

Appealing for caution and cooperation of commuters plying the axis, the Commissioner implored road users to obey traffic signs which have been mounted along the construction zone to minimise any inconvenience while ensuring the free flow of traffic during the rehabilitation period.

Oladeinde also assured that the State Government has directed all relevant Traffic Management and Security Agencies to ensure the free flow of traffic and safety for all during the construction works.
