The Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission will participate at the 2023 Water, Sanitation and Hygiene joint sector review, which will be held in Monrovia, Liberia from April 25 to April 27, 2023.

Representing LASWARCO at the event expected to assess progress made between 2018 and 2022 in the WASH sector, is the Executive Secretary, Mrs ‘Funke Adepoju.

A statement on Tuesday by the Lagos State Government said Adepoju was expected to present a keynote address at the high-level technical session and share the modest achievements of the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led administration in regulating standards in water production and packaging.

“The Liberia joint sector review 2023, which will be a convergence of water, sanitation and hygiene administrators and experts in Monrovia, Liberia, is expected to assess progress made between 2018 – 2022 in the ‘WASH’ sector, and identify key areas for improvement towards recommending actions to surmount issues in climate change, gender and health-related challenges in line with the SDG goal 6 – Availability of sustainable water management and sanitation for all.

“Recall that the Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission is saddled with the duties of regulating the water sector and providing the guidelines for packaging drinking water services, which includes scientific analysis of sources of water and enforcing the parameters for borehole drilling,” the statement said.
