The Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) will, from Monday, 6th February, 2023, commence the enrolment of the vulnerable in the State, who cannot afford to pay ILERA EKO premium and Lagos residents who can afford to pay their ILERA EKO Health insurance premiums.

A statement signed by the General Manager of LASHMA, Dr. Emmanuella Zamba, said that the registration and enrolment of the vulnerable throughout the 57 Local Government and Local Council Development Areas in the State, are to ensure that the vulnerable equally have access to quality healthcare to ensure that no one is left behind in the scheme of things.

Dr. Zamba said that the Agency will, on Monday, 6th February, 2023, flag off its Year 2023 EKO Social Health Alliance (EKOSHA) enrolment of the vulnerable and indigent at Ijede LCDA; at Kosofe LGA on Tuesday, 7th February, 2023 and on Wednesday, 8th February, 2023, the train will move to Odi-Olowo LGA.

She added that on Thursday, 9th February, 2023, it will be the turn of Iru-Victoria Island; on Tuesday, 14th February, 2023, registration will take place at Epe LGA while on Wednesday, 15th February, 2023, the exercise will continue at Egbe-Idimu LCDA.

“Other Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas that both the vulnerable and those who can pay their health insurance premiums will register in the month of February 2023 are Apapa LGA (16th February, 2023), Ojodu LCDA (21st February, 2023), Coker-Aguda LCDA (22nd February, 2023) and Oriade LCDA (23rd February, 2023)”, she stated.

The General Manager, therefore, urged everyone who is yet to come on board the scheme to seize the opportunity given by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to register and enrol in order to avoid out-of-pocket payment of medical bills and also have peace of mind.

She reiterated that ILERA EKO premium for Standard Plan (Individual) is N8,500 per annum and for the family plan consisting of six members – father, mother and four children below 23 years, is N40,000 per annum.

Dr. Zamba added that those who cannot afford to pay the premium once also have the opportunity to pay by instalment and access care with N1,000 monthly for the individual plan after the payment of N3,000 at the first instance.

“Enrollees for the family plan, can access care with N3,500 monthly after the payment of N10,500 at the first instance”, she said.

Stressing that senior citizens can also enrol with N34,000 per annum on ILERA EKO while the couple plan is N65,000 per annum, The General Manager said free medical screening and eyeglasses will be given to residents and LASHMA will also organise raffle draws at each event where various gifts will be won.
