LAWMA to take action against homes without waste bins

Starting from July 7, the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) will initiate a sealing exercise targeting homes without waste bins on both Lagos Island and Mainland.

This decision comes after the issuance of abatement notices to the affected areas two months ago.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Kunle Adebiyi, the Executive Director of Finance at LAWMA, emphasized the importance of residents and property owners procuring adequate waste bins for their homes.

Ample time and notice have been provided for tenements to obtain standard waste bins.

Adebiyi stressed the significance of cultivating proper environmental habits and supporting the Authority’s efforts in creating a cleaner and more livable environment.

By taking action against violations and ensuring compliance, they aim to establish a sustainable environment and realize the collective vision of a city that fulfills everyone’s aspirations.
