  • The Legal Manager will oversee  the legal aspects of the business, ensuring that all business transactions are compliant with the law and regulatory requirements. This role involves providing expert legal advice to the business, handling complex legal matters, and managing legal risks related to the company’s operations, contracts, and business activities as well as working with various teams to ensure that all business transactions are compliant with the law and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Legal Advisory:

  • Provide strategic legal advice to the business on business initiatives, compliance issues, and risk management.
  • Interpret complex legal documents and provide clear, concise legal counsel.

Contract Management:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts including service agreements, partnership agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other B2B and B2C contracts.
  • Ensure that all contracts comply with applicable laws and regulations and protect the company’s interests.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Monitor changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment, and take appropriate action.
  • Ensure the company’s compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance.

Litigation Management:

  • Manage and oversee litigation matters, including coordinating with external counsel.
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings and disputes.
  • Representing the company in resolving issues relating to various law enforcement agencies.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations to minimize legal exposure.

Corporate Governance:

  • Ensure the company’s corporate governance practices comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and update corporate records and ensure timely filing of required documents.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage and mentor junior legal staff, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Oversee the daily activities of the legal team and ensure timely and effective delivery of legal services.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a LL. B degree
  • B.L. from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of legal experience, with a strong background in corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven experience in a legal managerial role, preferably within the logistics or technology industry.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.
  • Previous experience working with or managing external legal counsel.
