Logistics Coordinator at BIC Nigeria

Job Description
Inbound Logistics:

  • Stay abreast of customs laws, regulations, and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare and submit necessary documentation and coordinate with custom brokers for customs clearance.
  • Collaborate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and transportation providers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Monitor shipment schedules and address any delays or issues in transit.
  • Work to minimize demurrage costs and import-related expenses while maintaining the quality and efficiency of import operations.

Customer Service Excellence:

  • Develop a robust customer order tracking system leveraging on company ERP (JDE), Microsoft Excel, power BI and other tracking software to provide visibility to customer orders from dispatch to delivery to customer warehouse.
  • Track and report customer order deliveries real-time, improving delivery efficiency and OTIF, hence customer satisfaction of 3PL and owned deliveries.
  • Track and report monthly customer missed cases and Order fill rate.

Reporting and Performance analysis:

  • Collect & analyze data on supply chain operations to improve efficiency.
  • Measure supply chain performance and report to management.
  • Participates in 3PL performance KPI reviews, tracking and reporting.
  • Prepares and sends 3PL partners monthly performance dashboard for driving improvement.
  • In charge of Customer excellence department monthly KPI scorecard, ensuring KPIs’ are updated on scorecards and monthly performance deck are updated and published as at when due.

Key Performance Indicators / Key Figures

  • 3PL monthly KPI scorecard updated by WD4 of new month.
  • Customer Excellence monthly performance deck updated by WD5 of new month.
  • Demurrage cost and clearing days.
  • OTD > 95%
  • Vendor POT >98% compliance to contract

Candidate Profile : Qualifications/Technical Skills

  • Diploma in supply chain management, logistics, business management or related fields
  • 2 or more years’ experience in a supply management role or related position
  • Proven knowledge of Nigeria Import documentation process.
  • Good analytical skills
  • Team player; able to relate to customers, suppliers’ colleagues, and team members.
  • Customer oriented.
  • Understanding of MS packages functionalities.
  • Intermediate to advance excel knowledge.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to build and improve trusting relationships.
  • Attention to details.
