Job Summary
- We are currently seeking an experienced, and thorough Management Accountant to join our organization.
- In this role, you will demonstrate your management skills and accounting expertise in a variety of personal and corporate accounting practices, including overseeing payables, receivables, inventory, payroll and taxes.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Perform financial analysis and report to the Head, Finance and Accounts as needed.
- Perform month-end accounting activities such as ledger reconciliations and journal entries.
- Coordinate with the finance team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines.
- Generate financial reports and statements to the Head, Finance and Accounts for review.
- Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions.
- Monitor expenditures, analyze revenues and determine budget variances and report the same to management.
- Ensure compliance with key Accounts and Financial functions in line with internal Period End Closure checklists.
- Respond to accounting inquiries from management in a timely fashion.
- Provide guidance to other Accountants when needed.
- Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts.
- Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentation.
- Preparation of periodic accounting reports as well as end-of-year management accounts.
- Input and posting into the computerized accounting systems
- Preparation of Management Accounts schedules.
- Supervision of the bank reconciliation process
- Communicate with all departments in ensuring invoices are approved and signed off.
- Monitor and record financial transactions according to company policies and regulations.
- Review and recommend changes to existing accounting procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum of an HND/ University degree and relevant certification(s).
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA is a must. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Six or more years related experience and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in management
- In-depth understanding of regulatory policies
- Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office and databases
- Expertise working with ERP and financial statements
- Consistent, accurate, and thorough with an eye for details
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and V-lookups
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently research and resolve tasks with minimal supervision with awareness and motivation to collaborate when necessary.
- Perform highly detailed work with accuracy and precision.
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced highly collaborative environment.
