Manchester United handed boost in Kalidou Koulibaly chase

Ancelotti shows no fear seeing his star performers leave Napoli, if they choose to seek new adventures away from Naples.

Although, despite wanting to keep back his best players from leaving as best as he can, Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti has said that he would not stop any player heading for the exit.

The Italian’s comment is more likely going to make stronger Manchester United’s confidence in their pursuit of Kalidou Koulibaly, a defender who has been central to Ancelotti’s plan.

The Senegal international has been marked as one of Manchester United’s primary targets, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer set to start a rebuilding process at Old Trafford ahead of next season.

Ancelotti said, per The Mirror, “We don’t need to sell our best players. We can sign new players following our ideas. However, I am not going to block who wants to leave, I’ve never done it in my career.”

This season, Koulibaly has 31 Serie A appearances, with two beautiful goals for second-placed Napoli.

On Sunday, he is expected to be on pitch away at Frosinone.

On the international scene, however, Koulibaly’s Senegal have been paired to compete against Algeria, Kenya and Tanzania in Group C of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, which starts on June 21.
