Job Summary
- The Market Researcher will be responsible for conducting comprehensive market research and analysis of cosmetics, market trends, and consumer behavior.
- The primary objective of the role is to provide insights that will inform strategic decision-making for the development and launch of new cosmetics products, as well as to enhance the performance of existing products.
Responsibilities
- Carry-out market research in the assigned areas
- Construct and maintain a central database for recording market data. You will be expected to monitor the quality of the data, continually implement improvements.
- Build out internal communication channels to keep the wider business updated with market news
- Consistently exercise independent judgement and discretion in research matters
- Prepare and submit regular reports that summarizes findings in a digestible, graphical, and actionable manner
- Support research programs incorporating current developments to improve existing products and study the potential of new products.
- Understand customer expectations on to-be manufactured products.
- Determine and execute improved technologies used by suppliers, competitors, and customers.
- Support to hire and develop R&D personnel.
- Support in the research, design and evaluating materials, assemblies, processes, and equipment.
- Document all phases of research and development.
- Manage customer relationships and perform reviews, customer visits, and product testing.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably within Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, Communications, or Marketing or any other relevant field
- 2 years of experience minimum in cosmetic industry.
- Excellent IT skills across the Microsoft desktop suites and the following:
- Statistical software packages:{SPSS, SAS, R or Stata.
- Database manipulation SQLand CRM management.
- Advanced data visualization methods: Tableau, Business Objects
- Excellent spoken and written communication and the tenacity to hold an argument.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, with people of all levels.
