We are looking for a fabrication and maintenance mechanical officer to fabricate and install machines and also ensure they are operating properly. Your primary responsibilities will be to perform preventive maintenance on various devices and fix technical issues.
Excellent problem-solving skills and deep understanding of mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics are crucial to this role.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, oversee, and coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance activities of all machineries, equipment, etc. in the factory for smooth running of the production activities to meet company goals.
- Monitor the fabrication, building and installation of new machines and equipment, etc. by providing technical supports, guidance, and oversight functions to contractors/third parties to ensure that projects are completed within standard and timely.
- Detect malfunctions through observation (sound or visual)
- Run diagnostic tests to ensure system functionality
- Repair broken or faulty machine parts
- Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
- Make sure housekeeping tasks are completed to create a clean and hygienic atmosphere.
- Perform emergency repairs
- Choose appropriate materials based on mechanical needs
- Align and calibrate machine parts
- Monitor and report on project progress
- Follow safety rules and regulations
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Requirements and skills
- OND/HND in Mechanical Engineering
- Have hands –on experience with boiler, mechanical maintenance, fabrication, fitting, welding, etc.
- Pay close attention to details.
- Familiarity using various power and hand tools, such as hosts and grinders
- Good at technical report writing.
- Problem-solving and organizational skills
