Job Summary:
- The Mechanical Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of mechanical equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. This role includes troubleshooting issues, conducting preventive maintenance, and supporting the installation of new equipment while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
- Develop and perform routine maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
- Support the installation, alignment, and calibration of mechanical systems.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure all equipment complies with safety regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe work practices in all operations.
- Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and production teams to resolve technical issues.
- Document work activities, repairs, and maintenance in logbooks or computerized systems.
Qualifications:
- ND, HND, BSC Mechanical engineering or related field
- At least 2 years’ experience as an electrical technician.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience operating hand and power tools, soldering, and fault-testing equipment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, and pneumatics.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, mechanical testing equipment, and hand tools.
