Medical Laboratory Technician at Solid Rock Hospital, Ojodu

Responsibilities

He/She will:

• Perform a variety of technical laboratory procedures according to Solid Rock Hospital laboratory Standard Operating Procedure and national standards.
• Obtain patient specimens and use it to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease
• Prepare tissue for microscopic examination
• Determine blood type for transfusions and other purposes.
• Conduct medical research and analyses.
• Operates and maintains sophisticated instruments and equipment used in the department.
• Maintains competence in Laboratory Information Systems that is crucial to the quality operations of the laboratory and patient care.
• Actively participates in Quality Improvement Programs. Ensure that laboratory testing is accurate, timely, and meets customer needs.
• Document information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of OND qualification with 2 – 10 years relevant work experience.
• He/she must be a licensed Medical Laboratory Technician.
• Must be able to properly set up, calibrate, maintain, operate and shut down such instruments.
• Must possess people skills
• Good Communication skills
• Able to work together as part of a team
• Able to maintain a safe, clean work environment
• Superb documentation skills
• Must reside within Lagos.
