Stakeholders Meeting Held With LAWMA and PSP Operators in Ojodu

The Chairman and the Executives of the All Ojodu Community Residents Developments Association held a stakeholders meeting with Lawma and PSP operators in Ojodu. The meeting took place in the early hours of Saturday 12th of March, 2022.

At the meeting: the following issues were raised and addressed by the Lawma representative in the person of Mr. Mustapha Kazeem.

He talked about the rate at which the Ojodu people are owing their PSP for service rendered which sums up to millions of naira. He pleaded with the community leaders, Baales, CDC, CDA, and street chairmen to assist in the recovery of the outstanding debt by engaging their residents in peace talk on how to pay their outstanding as the cost of running the business is expensive.

He also mentioned that the Lagos State Government is not taking the issues lightly with whoever that is owing the PSP as their enforcement unit will commence operation with effect from 28th of March, 2022 after their last meeting with the resident’s association. He pleaded for the cooperation of landlords and tenants to pay their debt as they would not like to embarrass anyone. That failure to get a result by the end of March 2022. The enforcement will commence operation.

On the Cart pusher, he said “that the enforcement unit will start arresting them and he advised that residents should not patronize cart pusher for their own good. He also mentioned that if you have waste that their compactor cannot carry like renovation waste, log of trees, cut branches of a tree, etc. that such a person should call Lawma office that they will send their team in charge of such waste to come and evacuate it.

He said that the Lagos state government frowned at refuse burning that anyone found burning refuse will be punished. He advised that instead of burning your refuse, you should patronize the PSP operators.

He also pleaded with the community to address the issue of area boys around some streets (name withheld) who harassed and sometimes beat up their drivers and motor boys during their operations.

After much deliberations, the chairman of the All Ojodu Community Residents Development Association in the person of Alhaji Sanni appealed to the lawma representative and the PSP operators and promised that he will address the issues by discussing them with the Baales and also to engage all the street chairmen including the estate. He believes that it will yield a positive result.

It was resolved that the Lawma representative and all the PSP operators in Ojodu be present at the March meeting of the All Ojodu Community Residents Association to address the chairmen and residents of Ojodu community. All residents are invited to come and share their views and meet with their PSP operator to resolve their issues.

Dr. (Mrs) Patience Olatunde, Manager Superior Waste Solutions Ventures – Mr. Green O. Abayomi, Mr. Fatunwase Gboyega, Manager Say Super Global Ventures –Mr. Aladeyelu Segun.
