Monat Pyramid Scheme: Marketing Structure for the Monat Affiliate Business

Monat Global is a personal care multi-level marketing (MLM) brand that sells beauty and skincare products through affiliates to direct users.

Owned by Alcora Corporation and established in 2014, Monat was founded by Luis Urdaneta and his son Rayner Urdaneta serves as the CEO. While many customers, including affiliates who market the company’s products to others currently consider Monat a pyramid scheme scam, here is the marketing structure and the compensation plan of the company:

“Run and own your own business” is how Monat motivates its affiliates who recruit more affiliates and sell directly to customers. So using its MLM marketing model, affiliates earn residual income by recruiting other affiliates who become their “downlines” and also make money from retail commissions after selling directly to users.

There are also performance-based bonuses tied to how well downlines perform in recruiting others and meeting their monthly purchase quotas.

The Monat marketing plan is divided into several levels for affiliates. This means affiliates can rank in any of the many levels and meet certain obligations to achieve given compensation plans. The levels to which affiliates can aspire to are –

  • Marketing Parter
  • Managing Marketing Partner
  • Associate Market Builder
  • Market Builder
  • Managing Market Builder
  • Associate Market Mentor
  • Market Mentor
  • Managing Market Mentor
  • Associate Executive Director
  • Executive Director
  • Senior Executive Director

These affiliates must meet their “personal volume” (PV), “group volume” (GV), and “downline volume” (DV) each month to retain their levels and rise up the ladder.

  • A marketing partner must generate 200 PV per month
  • A managing marketing partner must generate 300 PV per month, recruit two marketing partners, and create a total 1,200 GV from his downlines
  • An associate market builder must generate 400 PV per month, recruit three marketing partners, and have a total 2,400 GV from his downlines
  • A market builder must generate 500 PV a month, recruit four marketing partners with a total 4,000 GV
  • A managing market builder must have 500 PV a month, have four marketing partners and have a total 7,000 GV
  • An associate market mentor must have 500 PV, have four marketing partner, with 7,000 GV
  • A market mentor must maintain 500 PV a month, have four marketing partners with a total 7,000 GV and 30,000 DV
  • A managing market mentor must have 500 PV per month, and have four marketing partners and generate 7,000 GV and 60,000 DV
  • An associate executive director must have 500 PV per month, recruit five marketing partners with a total 7,000 GV and 120,000 DV
  • An executive director must have 500 PV in the month and create six marketing partners with a downline volume of 7,000 GV and 300,000 DV
  • A senior executive director must have 500 PV per month, recruit eight markting partners and have 7,000 GV and 800,000 DV

Affiliates can also earn 30% retail commissions on products sold directly to users, and the commission can increase to 40% if the affiliate generates between 1,000 – 3,500 PV per month.

They also earn $100 when a recruited affiliate buys the company’s business product pack, $120 when the recruited affiliate buys the success product pack, and $220 as commission if the new recruit buys the overachiever product pack.

Potential affiliates must however exercise due diligence with Monat at the moment since numerous people allege it is a scam and that the haircare products are injurious. The phrase out there is Monat pyramid scheme scam and every new affiliate and customer must be duly informed before signing up with this business.
