King Charles III of the United Kingdom called on nations worldwide to unite against tyranny in all its forms during a D-Day commemoration in France on Thursday.
The event marked 80 years since the Allied landings in Normandy that shifted the course of World War II.
Speaking in Ver-sur-Mer, Charles honored fallen Allied soldiers, French civilians who sacrificed their lives, and the bravery of the French resistance.
“It is with the most profound sense of gratitude that we remember them. And all those who served at that critical time,” he said.
The King highlighted the importance of learning from veterans’ stories and emphasized the enduring obligation to remember their contributions and achievements.
