Nigeria records 520 new COVID-19 cases

520 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Nigeria on Sunday, February 14, bringing the total number of infected people in the country to 146,184.

The new cases were reported in 18 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

According to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC, Ondo State recorded120 fresh cases, while Borno recorded 41 fresh cases.

The NCDC disclosed this figure on its official Twitter handle on Sunday.

Other places with fresh cases include, Ebonyi-37, Benue-33, Plateau-30, FCT-29, Nasarawa-25, Ogun-25, Edo-24, Osun-24 and Katsina-22.

Kaduna, according to the agency,  reported 21 new cases, Niger-20, Kwara-14, Ekiti-13, Yobe-10, Oyo had four, while Bayelsa and Jigawa had one each.

The health agency also registered five additional COVID-19 deaths due to complications from the virus, bringing the country’s total death toll to 1,752.

The NCDC noted that the data obtained from Borno and Ondo States were for the last two days.

It said about 439 people had been successfully treated for COVID-19 and were discharged on Sunday, raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 120,838.
