Nigerian Army announces commencement of 86 regular recruits intake

The Nigerian Army has officially launched the 86 Regular Recruits Intake for trades, non-tradesmen, and women. This announcement was made by the Army Headquarters and was published in The PUNCH on Monday.

The publication outlined the key details of the recruitment process, stating, “The Nigerian Army wishes to inform the general public and all interested qualified candidates of the commencement of online registration for 86 Regular Recruits Intake for trades/non-tradesmen and women.”

The recruitment process kicked off with online registration, which began on September 25 and is set to conclude on October 27, 2023. Selected candidates will participate in a state recruitment exercise scheduled for November 6th to November 19th, 2023.

The report also provides a step-by-step guide for applicants:

  1. Apply online at the recruitment portal http://recruitment.army.mil.ng.
  2. Log in to the above-mentioned link using the provided username and password.
  3. Complete the application form, submit it online, and print a copy. Additionally, complete the Guarantor’s form as required.
  4. Bring duly signed copies of the application and guarantor’s forms to the designated state recruitment centers.

Furthermore, the Army Headquarters outlined the eligibility criteria for applicants, including being single and Nigerian citizens by birth, possessing a National Identity Card/NIN, having no criminal convictions, and meeting educational qualifications (a minimum of 4 passes in not more than two sittings in WASCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB).

Physical fitness is a requirement, and candidates must meet the height criteria of at least 1.68 meters for males and 1.65 meters for females. Applicants must also possess a valid birth certificate/age declaration endorsed by the National Population Commission, Hospital, or Local Government Council, as well as a valid state of origin.

For tradesmen/women, in addition to the age requirements, they must also possess a Trade Test/City Guild Certificate.

Registered Nurses and Midwives, not above 30 years old, are also eligible to apply.
