NIMC issues new instructions to NIN applicants

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) on Monday instructed National Identification Number (NIN) applicants to download the enrolment form, fill and submit it at any of its enrolment centres across the country.

The development comes days after the Nigerian Communication Commission ordered telecommunications companies to block sim card without NIN within two weeks.

InsideOjodu had earlier reported that large crowds gathered at various offices of the National Identity Management Commission in Lagos on Monday in a bid to register and obtain the National Identity Number.

Meanwhile, the FG had approved 173 centres and 30 state government institutions for the enrolment of all persons, including legal residents into the National Identity Database (NIDB) on behalf of the NIMC.

But, the NICM in a tweet via its official Twitter handle said: “Dear #NIN applicants, you can kindly download the enrolment form below. http://commtech.gov.ng/Doc/enrolment_form_v2.pdf

“Fill & submit the form in any of @nimc_ng’s enrollment centres to be enrolled into the National Identity Database & be issued the National Identification Number.”
