NLC, TUC declare indefinite strike from October 3

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) of Nigeria have jointly announced an indefinite strike scheduled to commence on October 3.

The two labor organizations have advised Nigerians to stockpile essential food items as the strike is expected to disrupt economic activities across the country.

This decision was reached following separate Emergency National Executive Council (NEC) meetings held by the NLC, represented by President Joe Ajaero, and the TUC, represented by President Festus Osifo, both of whom expressed concerns about the alleged insensitivity of the government towards the challenges faced by Nigerians.

The strike action is a response to the removal of the petrol subsidy and what the labor unions perceive as a lack of proactive measures from the government.
