NNPC begins distribution of one billion litres of fuel amid scarcity

As the scarcity of fuel looms across the country, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPC) has begun the distribution of one billion litres of safe Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), known as petrol, in its stock to various fuel stations nationwide.

The Group Executive Director, Downstream, NNPC, Adetunji Adeyemi, made this known while briefing newsmen on Tuesday in Abuja.

According to him, 2.3 billion litres of PMS would arrive Nigeria between now and February ending to address the current situation and restore sufficiency.

Adeyemi said this would address the situation and restore the sufficiency level above the national target of 30 days.

InsideOjodu had earlier reported that vehicular queues have resurfaced in some filling stations in Ojodu LCDA area of Lagos State causing heavy traffic on major routes within the area.

A trip around Ojodu from Berger to Grammar school, Omole and down to Ogba, cars were spotted queuing by the roadside to gain access to the filling station as passengers were seen stranded at bus stops with fewer cars on the road.

Movement from Omole to Berger has been very slow due to several queues at the filling station.
