Veteran Yoruba actor, Gbolagade Akinpelu, popularly known as Ogun Majek, is dead.
It was learned that he died Thursday morning at his Imalefalafia, Oke-Ado, Ibadan home, after battling prolonged-sickness leading to his demise.
Confirming the news of his death, The PUNCH reported the President of Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Bolaji Amusan, aka Mr Latin, “Yes, he died this morning and our colleagues in Oyo State are there to do all necessary things.
“Everybody knows he was a good man. He was a thorough professional. Our members, both in Nigeria and abroad, including other Nigerians, did all they could to save his life; but unfortunately, we lost him.”
Also, confirming his death Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Tunde Ola-Yusuf, wrote in a Facebook post: “From him, we come and on to him we shall return, Alh Gbolagade Akinpelu Ogunmajek has returned to his creator. May God Almighty rest his soul among the righteous. Amen.”
