Ojodu LCDA, Eko Club Atlanta Provide Free Healthcare Services

The citizens and residents of Ojodu LCDA, once again heaved a sigh of relief as hundreds benefited from the free medical rescue mission organized by the Council administration in collaboration with Eko Club Atlanta.

The Executive Chairman Hon. David Olusegun Odunmbaku expressed his commitment to ensuring the well-being of every member of the community. Speaking at the event held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism complex, the Odunmbaku thanked the medical team, partners, stakeholders, and esteemed guests who came to support the noble cause. He reassured the people of Ojodu LCDA of the resolve of his administration towards revamping and improving primary health care service delivery.

“Our administration has been working round the clock since its inception, towards the rejuvenation of the Primary Health Service Delivery and the rehabilitation of similar infrastructures,” said Hon. Odunmbaku. “Today, our medical team will be providing a range of services, including primary care consultations, general health check-ups, vaccinations, laboratory testing, treatment for common illnesses, and basic emergency care. Our goal is to ensure that every member of our community has access to quality healthcare services, regardless of their financial status.”

Hon. Odunmbaku also highlighted the need for continued support in providing essential medical interventions, such as free surgical interventions for gynecological conditions, eye conditions, and orthopedic conditions. He emphasized the importance of upgrading medical facilities by adding an ambulance for emergency services, upgrading some of the 8-hour PHCs to comprehensive 24-hour PHCs, donating medical equipment to PHCs, and upgrading the Geriatrics Center at Oke-Ira Central PHC.

The Chairman urged all residents to take advantage of the opportunity and come forward for medical check-ups and treatments. “Your health is your most valuable asset, and it is crucial that you take care of it,” he said.

The one-day free medical rescue mission was organized in line with the administration’s H.E.Y.S Mission (Health, Education, Youth and Women Empowerment, and Social Infrastructure). The event provided an opportunity for community members to access quality healthcare services and complemented the administration’s initiatives aimed at improving the well-being of the community.

The Chairman appreciated everyone who made the health mission possible and highlighted their efforts and commitment to the community. “Together, we can build a healthier and happier community for ourselves and for generations to come,” he said.

While giving his remarks, the President Eko Club Atlanta Mr. Deji Ajiboye expressed his elation at the huge turnout as well as the milestones of Hon. Odunmbaku especially in the area of Health. Ajiboye assured that the health mission is the tip of the iceberg as the Club would take on more humanitarian strides for the benefit of the good people of Ojodu LCDA.

Also present at the event were the Vice Chairman Ojodu LCDA, Hon Bunmi Oluyadi, the Leader of the legislative house, Hon. Opeyemi Apatira and other legislative and Executive committee members, the Management team, medical personnel and teeming members of the public who benefited from the initiative.
