The Ojodu Local Development Area under the leadership of Hon Segun Odunmbaku in conjunction with Rotary Club Of Gbagada and LAWMA today inducted sixty Ojodu youths to be trained on the use of aggregators to recycle waste into wealth.
The event which held today at the council secretariat had selected trainees inducted in the renewal, regeneration and recycling of waste for environmental and socioeconomic benefits that would not just protect the environment from degeneration and pollution but would also create jobs, generate income and establish recycling businesses for the beneficiaries of the training.
Waste to Wealth brings scientific processing of waste to the forefront to build a zero landfills and zero waste community. The collaboration was borne out of a common platform for Ojodu LCDA, Development and Technical partners to seek relevant solutions to the issues of environmental pollution and unemployment. Recycling, also known as creative reuse, is the process of transforming waste materials, by-products and unwanted products into new materials or products of better quality and environmental value.
In attendance at the induction ceremony were President of Rotary Club Of Gbagada, Mr Alozie Nsirimobi and The Supervisor for Environment,Hon. Olawale Abdulsalam.
