Oluremi Tinubu urges Governors’ Wives to utilize first lady positions for impactful change

Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady, called upon the wives of the 36 state governors on Friday to make meaningful use of their positions.

Mrs. Tinubu encouraged the governor’s wives to leverage their roles to bring about positive change not only in the lives of people within their states but also in the lives of Nigerians at large.

The purpose of the meeting was to formally introduce and acquaint the governors’ wives with the objectives and mission of the Renewed Hope Initiative, as outlined in a statement from Mrs. Tinubu’s spokesperson, Busola Kukoyi.

While congratulating the governors’ wives on the successful conduct of the 2023 elections that brought their husbands into office, Mrs. Tinubu reminded them of the need to fulfill the promises made during the election campaigns.

She expressed her desire to garner the support of the governors’ wives in reaching every corner of the country.

Assuring the governors’ wives that the Renewed Hope Initiative would not interfere with their personal programs and projects, the First Lady emphasized that their support would have a significant impact.

She stated, “I wish to remind each of us that the exalted positions we are in today should be seen as an opportunity to impact more meaningfully, not only in the lives of people in your states but Nigeria as a whole”.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, the wife of the Kwara State Governor, Amb. Olufolake Abdulrazak, affirmed the commitment of the governors’ wives to support the Renewed Hope Initiative.

She stated that they would appoint zonal coordinators to ensure outreach to grassroots communities. She also confirmed that the initiative would complement their individual projects in their respective states.

The Renewed Hope Initiative is a pet project led by the Office of the First Lady, aimed at fostering positive change and development.
