The death of Veteran broadcaster, Alhaji Toyin Kawojue has been described as a great loss to the entire Epe Division of Lagos State.
This was part of the sermon delivered by Alhaji Olajiwon Olabiwonu Ekemode, Onuwasi at the 8th day fidau prayer on Sunday, April 14 in Epe.
Alhaji Ekemode said the entire Epe division made up of the Muslim Community, Obas and communities will greatly miss Kawojue for his immerse contribution to the development of the region.
“There is nothing like sudden death”, according to the Islamic scholar because death itself has been warning everyone as the ultimate end of all living things.
Alhaji Ekemode said the good or evil that men do will always live after them ,urging everyone to life a life that is worthy of emulation.
Kawojue, a veteran newscaster with Lagos Television and a most sort after master of ceremony for social events in Lagos State and the south west died on April was also the presenter of “Epe Lawa”, an indigenous grassroots program on Radio Lagos promoting development
His former teacher at the Government Teachers College Epe, Alhaji Bashir Adebowale Gbademosi, said Kawojue was an honourable man,who was always bold to express his mind of matters of public importance during his school days.
Gbadamosi said when Kawojue was a great assert to the school helping to fix all electrical faults free of charge.
“Kawojue learnt how to fix electrical appliances while in school living with his electrician brother, who taught him his trade, and this made him an asset to our school through put his days on campus helping with electrical faults free of charge even when he graduated, his younger brother still continued to provide the free services to the school
Kawojue was one of the school’s prefect in charge of electricity and electrical and he performed well to the admiration of everyone especially the school management” he said.
Among dignitaries who attended the 8th day fidau prayer executive chairman of Epe Local Government Area, Honourable Adedoyin Adesanya,house of assembly members representing Epe at Lagos State House of Assembly, politicians, Community leaders, landlords association, Islamic Leaders, his former teacher, former frGeneral Manager of Radio Lagos. Eko FM and LTV General Manager Funke Moore, Former General Manager of LTV, Sina Elegbede Oba Ademola Elegushi, the Elegushi of Ikateland also sent a representative to the occasion.
