Police arrest 30 footballers in Kano for violating lockdown order

30 footballers have been arrested in Kano for defying the lockdown order issued by the state government over the outbreak of Coronavirus in the state.

The State Police Command’s spokesperson, Abdullahi Haruna confirmed the arrest of the lockdown violators and he said they were identified as the footballers who participated in a football match at Dala Local Government Area (LGA) of the state, in violation of the lockdown and social distancing order.

The footballers were arrested on Monday April 20, and they will be prosecuted in court after investigation has been concluded.
