Police Arrest Ex-Soldier for Car Theft in Delta

Delta State Police Command has arrested an ex-soldier, Mr Danie Efe, for being a member of a syndicate that specializes in car theft in the state.

The acting Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Chuks Orisewezie, disclosed this on Thursday at the police headquarters Asaba.

Orisewezie stated that the 32-year-old Efe, a native of Agbarho in the Ughelli South Local Government Area of the state, was intercepted with one Toyota Corolla car with a fake number plate, PBT 214 AA, along the Sapele-Benin Road by the Safer Highway Patrol team.

“After preliminary investigation, the suspect and the exhibit were transferred to the State Intelligence and Investigation Department, Asaba, where a thorough investigation was conducted and the suspect confessed to the crime and admitted to being a member of the syndicate,” Orisewezie stated.

However, the PPRO noted that the suspects would be charged to court, adding that criminals should avoid the state, if not they will be ready to suffer in the face of law.
