- We are seeking a Procurement Associate to manage purchasing, maintain supplier relationships, and ensure compliance with company policies in our pharmaceutical firm.
- The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills and a solid understanding of procurement best practices in the pharmaceutical industry.
Responsibilities
- Implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals and objectives.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts, terms and conditions with suppliers to ensure favorable terms.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock without over or under supply.
- Evaluate the performance of suppliers to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Raise purchase orders, organizing and confirming delivery of pharmaceutical goods and services.
- Source and Evaluate Potential Suppliers based on Quality, Cost, and service.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors and develop new supplier relationships.
- Develop and implement cost reduction strategies while maintaining product quality and availability.
Requirements
- Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
- Interest in market dynamics along with business sense
- Enviable negotiation skills and relationship management skills
- Working experience of vendor management software
- Ability to gather and analyze data and work with figures
- Solid judgment with ability to make good decisions
- Strong leadership capabilities
- First class or a minimum of second-class degree in either Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Chemistry, Physics, Pharmacy an added advantage.
- 3+ years of experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Management in the pharmaceutical, Retail & FMCG industry.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical sector is an added advantage.
