Project Specialist at Soft Alliance & Resources Limited

Role Description

  • This is a contract on-site role as a Project Specialist with Soft Alliance located in Ikeja.
  • The Project Specialist will be responsible for day-to-day project management tasks, including but not limited to, project planning, scheduling, risk management, coordination, and communication with project stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Communication, Customer Service, and Sales skills
  • Educational Background: A degree in Project Management pr PMI Certification, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field
  • Experience in Public Sector: Extensive working experience in the federal public sector preferably at the directorate level. Experience in government projects related to revenue assurance or customs is an added advantage.
  • Project Management Skills: Proven experience in managing large-scale projects, with certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) being an advantage.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address project challenges.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with project management software and tools, and an understanding of IT systems relevant to customs operations. Not compulsory
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and government policies.
  • Analytical Skills and Project Management experience
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Computer Science or Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Coordination: Oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of specific short-term for the FGN.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with various stakeholders, including senior government officials, and IT professionals, to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement strategies to streamline customs processes through automation, enhancing efficiency and revenue assurance.
  • Compliance and Regulation Adherence: Ensure all project activities comply with federal regulations and standards.
  • Budget Management: Manage the project budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and financial reporting in line with government guidelines.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Effective Communication and Reporting: Maintain clear, persuasive communication channels with all stakeholders and provide comprehensive reports on project progress, challenges, and outcomes.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation and provide regular reports to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Management: Ensure strict adherence to federal regulations and standards, maintaining integrity and accountability in all project activities.
  • Training and Capacity Building: Facilitate training sessions for customs staff on new systems and processes introduced by the project.
