Regina Askia responds to the backlash she received for making a case for VDM

Former Nollywood actress Regina Askia says legal expert Femi Falana has every right to take up a defamation suit against social critic, Martin Otse aka Very Dark Man, or settle it as he deems fit but that as it stands, the real issues that led to the defamatory remarks being made appear to have been swept under the carpet.

An Ikeja High Court on Monday, October 14, ruled that VDM delete his defamatory posts about the Falanas and that the Falanas serve him their defamation suit through his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju.

A false report claiming the court had asked VDM to pay N500m fine to the Falanas made the rounds on social media later. Regina then took to her Instagram page to make a post questioning the sincerity of the fine and asked why no one was going after the person who made the claims in the audio tape VDM released.

Regina was, however, dragged in her comment section by non-supporters of Very Dark Man who accused her of ‘’promoting a negative narrative” around the case.

Responding to the backlash she received, Regina argued that VDM is about to be made a scapegoat while the main issue which is the revelations in the audiotape he released appears to have been swept under the carpet.
