Job Summary
- The Regional Supply Chain Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for commodity procurement, farm input distribution, and overall supply chain operations within the designated regions. This position demands a strategic, hands-on leader with at least 10 years of senior management experience who will drive strategy, planning, and execution while overseeing field managers and additional operational staff. The role optimizes procurement, asset management, inventory, and logistics to ensure seamless supply chain performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Commodity Procurement & Farm Input Distribution:
- Responsible for leading the procurement of agricultural commodities and improved farm inputs, ensuring timely acquisition and distribution to meet operational demands.
- Develop and manage processes for farm input distribution to enhance supply chain efficiency and farmer accessibility.
Strategic Supply Chain & Logistics Management:
- Formulate and implement regional supply chain strategies to drive operational excellence.
- Oversee procurement, inventory, and distribution operations across the regions.
- Optimize fleet and logistics operations to ensure timely, cost-effective product delivery.
Regional Strategy, Planning, and Execution:
- Develop long-term and short-term strategic plans for each region.
- Ensure that regional objectives align with overall company goals.
- Lead planning and execution efforts, monitoring performance, and making necessary adjustments to enhance supply chain efficiency.
Team Leadership & Performance Management:
- Direct a team of field managers and other reporting staff across the regions.
- Set clear KPIs, provide ongoing coaching, and foster an environment of continuous improvement.
- Oversee staff training and development to maintain high operational excellence standards.l
Data Management & Reporting:
- Leverage server-based systems and data analytics tools to generate insights on supply chain performance.
- Prepare and maintain real-time reports on procurement, inventory, logistics, and overall supply chain metrics.
- Ensure accurate and timely data management to support decision-making processes.
Compliance & Vendor Coordination:
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to secure cost-effective, high-quality resources and services.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, including a significant portion in a senior management role, preferably in the agritech or related industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in commodity procurement, farm input distribution, and managing complex supply chain operations.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong strategic planning, decision-making, and organiza tional skills.
- Proven leadership capabilities with experience managing field managers and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in using server-based systems for data tracking and reporting.
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel extensively across the assigned regions.
