Rep. Seth Moulton announces 2020 presidential run

Seth Moulton, Massachusetts Rep. is the latest Democrat to announce his decision to run for the 2020 presidential elections, initiating a longshot bid Monday that would definitely make the 40-year-old Marine Corps veteran the youngest president in American history.

Moulton said in an interview on Monday on ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’, “I am here to tell you and to tell America that I am running for President of the United States.”

He also added, “And I am running because I am a patriot, because I believe in this country and because I have never wanted to sit on the sidelines when it comes to serving it. That is why I joined that Marines, it is why I ran for Congress to try to prevent what I saw got us into Iraq from happening again, and it is why I am running to take on the most divisive president in American history to bring this country back together.”

Moulton joins a very large and also growing field of Democratic candidates in 2020. Moulton, Massachusetts Democrat is now the 19th candidate to declare presidential campaign and the field is expected to increase in number this week when Joe Biden, the Vice President of the United States makes his long-anticipated presidential announcement.

Ono Monday, a campaign video was posted showing the Democrat touting his military service and time in Congress and also explaining why he really believes he should be the party’s next presidential nominee.

“Ask anyone who’s lost their job to a changing economy or a child to opioids or has to choose between heat and food in the winter, they’re feeling forgotten.”

It is expected of Moulton’s campaign to focus primarily on veterans’ issues. And because of that focus, Scott Eshom has been hired by the campaign, and also Green Beret who’s with the Army’s 5th Special Forces Group as the campaign’s veterans’ organizer.
