Ronaldo makes history as Juve is crowned Serie A champions for the 35th time

Juventus made history today by defeating Fiorentina to win the Serie A title for the 35th time. Cristiano Ronaldo also made history of his own.

Juventus just became the first team in the top five leagues – Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, La Liga and Premier League – to win league titles eight times in a row.

Ronaldo, however, just became the first and only player to win the Premier League, La Liga and Serie A.

Today was a great day for Juventus as they also had another cause for celebration. Their women’s team was founded in 2017, and also won today, their second straight league title.

Petronella Ekroth, Cristiana Girelli and Eniola Aluko finished off a fantastic 3-0 win over Verona to gap Fiorentina to the title championship by one point.

Juventus also looked like they were suffering in the match against Fiorentina as a result of their midweek exit at the hands of Ajax, as Nikola Milenkovic brilliantly put Fiorentina ahead early on.

But 30 minutes later, Alex Sandro scored the equalizer, before Pezzella, Fiorentina defender, diverted Ronaldo’s cross past his own goalkeeper to complete the comeback.

Ronaldo who was signed on a reported $117 million reported, “I’m really happy that I won the Italian title in my first season. Of course, it did not go well in the Champions League, but there is next year.”

The victory against Fiorentina has successfully put Juventus at an insurmountable 20 points ahead second-placed Napoli, winning the league title with five games left.

Juve now boasts of 35 league titles, far ahead of closest rivals AC Milan who have only18.
