Ojodu LCDA Chairman Hosts Stakeholders Meeting On ROTAVAC Vaccination
The Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku on the 8th of December 2022, hosted community stakeholders across Ikeja Federal Constituency in a sensitization meeting for the outbreak prevention and response campaign project through vaccination of ROTAVAC VACCINE.
Lagos State Primary Healthcare Board had announced that the Childhood Vaccine is to improve the well-being of children through the protection of children under the age of 5 years against ROTAVIRUS infection (diarrhoeal disease) common in Children.
The stakeholders’ sensitization meeting was organized to bring on board community leaders, traditional leaders, religious leaders, health workers, and health education officers to seek community ownership of the project and achieve more support that is needed to vaccinate children.
Hon. Segun Odunmbaku at the meeting stressed the importance of prevention and vaccination in healthcare while praising the Lagos State Government for its efforts in managing the health issues, especially COVID-19, and assured the stakeholders of his full support while thanking and appreciating them for their commitment to the project.
He implored the stakeholders on the need for all hands to be on deck for the project which is billed to begin on 17th December 2022. Community leaders are also solicited to nominate volunteers while the MOH for Ojodu LCDA, Dr. Anne Okon implored community leaders to attend community dialogues by ward focal persons across wards and encourage community people to patronize health centers and programmes.
The community stakeholders present appreciate the Chairman for his support and praised the government for the vaccine to be given free to charge while promising to take the campaign to their communities for effective vaccination of children in households and community institutions in their domain.
