Sanwo-Olu affirms commitment to food security at 2023 Lagos Food Festival

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has assured that prioritizing food security remains a key focus to alleviate the cost of food commodities in the state.

He gave the assurance on Sunday in Lagos during the 2023 Lagos Food Festival at Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island.

The Governor, represented by Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, emphasized his administration’s unwavering dedication to developing the agricultural industry.

Under the theme “A Fusion of Flavours,” the festival showcased the vibrant spirit of Lagos, drawing attention to the prosperity, resourcefulness, and innovation embedded in the local food scene.

Sanwo-Olu expressed satisfaction with the event’s large turnout, underscoring its significance as a representation of the true essence of Lagos.

Highlighting the agricultural sector’s pivotal role in the state’s THEMES Agenda, the Governor lauded the efforts invested in its development.

He commended the multitude of Small and Medium Enterprises in agriculture and food, stressing the importance of the festival as a platform for these businesses to promote their products and foster networking.

Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the entrepreneurial spirit of the youth showcased at the event, noting their contributions to adding value and success to the community.

He concluded by stating that the Lagos Food Festival epitomizes a society that actively engages in prosperity, ingenuity, innovation, and the dynamic spirit of Lagos.
