The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been appointed as the new Chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum.
The appointment was made during a meeting in Lagos on Monday between the six governors of the South-West geo-political zone.
The meeting took place at the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja, in Governor Sanwo-Olu’s office, where the governors deliberated for three hours before issuing a communique.
Sanwo-Olu, addressing state house correspondents after the meeting, confirmed his appointment as the new chairman, succeeding the late Ondo State Governor, Ogbeni Rotimi Akeredolu.
However, he did not comment on the ongoing minimum wage controversy between the Federal Government and Organised Labour, stating that they await the outcome of the negotiations.
All six state governors were in attendance.
