Sanwo-Olu approves new vehicles for state directors

The Lagos State government has approved the distribution of 100 units of new vehicles for state directors in the mainstream, teaching and health sectors.

The state Head of Service, Mr Hakeem Muri-Okunola, announced this in a circular issued on Tuesday, adding that an e-ballot process will be deployed for eligible officers.

The letter partly reads, “In recognition of the contribution of public servants to the development of the state, and in fulfilment of Mr Governor’s promise of personalised directors’ vehicles, 100 units of brand new vehicles have been approved for distribution to substantive Directors – GL. 17 in the mainstream, teaching and health sectors.

“Consequently, to ensure fairness, equity, and transparency, an e-ballot process will be deployed on Thursday, January 26, 2023, via a link to be forwarded to the official email of eligible officers.

There would also be live streaming of the process at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium.

“To be eligible, the following guidelines apply i. Must be a substantive Director, GL.17 as at date; ii. Must not have been previously assigned a personalised Vehicle; iii. Must have a functional LASG official email through which the link will be forwarded; and iv. The ballot process can be accessed at any location of choice.”

The statement added that the vehicles to be handed over to successful beneficiaries would be subjected to further verification in order to establish that the officer has never been allocated a personalised vehicle at any point in their career.
