Sanwo-Olu Defeats Rivals, Wins Lagos Governorship Election

The Governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has declared winner of the March 9, Governorship poll in Lagos by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

INEC State Returning Officer, Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede made this declaration at about 7 05.PM on Sunday, InsideOjodu reports.

The APC candidate defeated his closest challenger, Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, with a wide margin of 533,304 votes, InsideOjodu reports.

InsideOjodu reports that Sanwo-Olu of the APC polled 739, 445 votes to win other candidate in the election, while Agbaje polled 206,141 votes.

There are 20 local governments in the state, Sanwo-Olu won all the LGs across the state.

In the same vein APC won all the 40 state House of Assembly seats in the state.
