The Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Sotobi, members of the Ikorodu-based Oriwu Club, and the ruling All Progressives Congress have expressed their support for the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for a second term in office.
They said this, according to a statement issued on Monday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Gboyega Akosile, during the investiture of Sanwo-Olu as the Grand Patron of Oriwu Club in Ikorodu.
This is just as the governor promised to make life better for residents of the state.
Sotobi was quoted as saying, “I commend Governor Sanwo-Olu for the visible development in Ikorodu division, especially the establishment of the Lagos State University of Science and Technology and the ongoing rehabilitation of the Ikorodu roundabout to Sabo to reduce traffic gridlock on that corridor, with a call for the upgrade of Baales to first class traditional rulers.”
The President of Oriwu Club Ikorodu, Adekunle Oduborisa, noted that Sanwo-Olu’s investiture as the Grand Patron of the club was to celebrate his resilience and diligence as the governor in the last three and half years.
In his response, Sanwo-Olu said, “We will make life better for the people. I want to assure you that this government is committed and by the grace of God if you give us your support and we come back again, we will double our effort and commit ourselves again because the only reward for good work is for us to do more work.”
