Job Summary
- The Security Manager (Logistics) is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive security strategies to protect the company’s assets, personnel, and information across all logistics operations.
- This role involves overseeing security measures, managing security staff, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- The Chief Security Manager will work closely with other departments to integrate security practices into all aspects of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive security strategy for the company’s logistics operations.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Create and update security policies, procedures, and protocols to address identified risks.
- Oversee daily security operations, ensuring the protection of facilities, assets, and personnel.
- Coordinate with site managers to ensure consistent security practices across all locations.
- Manage and monitor security systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems.
- Conduct regular training sessions to keep the security team updated on the latest security practices and technologies.
- Develop and implement incident response plans to address security breaches, thefts, and other emergencies.
- Lead investigations into security incidents and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and communicate findings to senior management.
- Ensure all security operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant security laws and standards.
- Work closely with other departments, such as Operations, IT, and HR, to integrate security measures into all aspects of the business.
- Communicate security policies and procedures to all employees and ensure understanding and compliance.
- Monitor expenses and optimize resources to ensure cost-effective security solutions.
- Continuously evaluate and improve security measures to address evolving threats.
Qualifications
- A Degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or any related field, having Certifications in Security Management or a certified member of the Police Academy will be giving more priority.
- Must have 15 – 20 years of experience in security management, with at least 12 years in a leadership role, preferably in the logistics industry.
- Must be a retired Police Officer or Military Personnel
