Job Summary

  • The Security Manager (Logistics) is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive security strategies to protect the company’s assets, personnel, and information across all logistics operations.
  • This role involves overseeing security measures, managing security staff, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • The Chief Security Manager will work closely with other departments to integrate security practices into all aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive security strategy for the company’s logistics operations.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Create and update security policies, procedures, and protocols to address identified risks.
  • Oversee daily security operations, ensuring the protection of facilities, assets, and personnel.
  • Coordinate with site managers to ensure consistent security practices across all locations.
  • Manage and monitor security systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to keep the security team updated on the latest security practices and technologies.
  • Develop and implement incident response plans to address security breaches, thefts, and other emergencies.
  • Lead investigations into security incidents and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports and communicate findings to senior management.
  • Ensure all security operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant security laws and standards.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as Operations, IT, and HR, to integrate security measures into all aspects of the business.
  • Communicate security policies and procedures to all employees and ensure understanding and compliance.
  • Monitor expenses and optimize resources to ensure cost-effective security solutions.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve security measures to address evolving threats.

Qualifications

  • A Degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or any related field, having Certifications in Security Management or a certified member of the Police Academy will be giving more priority.
  • Must have 15 – 20 years of experience in security management, with at least 12 years in a leadership role, preferably in the logistics industry.
  • Must be a retired Police Officer or Military Personnel
